Our SMART Meter Rollout Programme

As with all energy suppliers Yorkshire Gas and Power are rolling out smart meters to our customers across the UK, as the Government requires every home and business to have been offered a smart meter over the roll out period.

As per our licence conditions, we need to ensure transparency on our forecast for installations for 2024, these are shown in the table below.

General Metering Statement

We will always endeavour to send an engineer out to the property with the relevant skill set, regardless of it being a meter read, traditional or smart meter visit.
- From time to time we will encounter unexpected work that we weren’t aware of, this may result in repeat visits.
Our engineers will be able to identify themselves as working on our behalf, before entering a property.
If required, we can set passwords for visits ahead of time this needs to be agreed prior to a visit taking place.
They will be equipped with our customer service number, so that if there are any issues on site they will be able to provide this, or use the information themselves.
